We are very excited to announce the signing of 7Days In Tokyo to Mocean Records.
7Days In Tokyo is a ‘Galactic Pop Band’ that was formed in 2011. For the past 18 months 7Days In Tokyo (casually referred to as ‘Tokyo’) have been working on new music and are currently developing a script for a short film about the 7Days In Tokyo story. Based in New York for the past month Tokyo has been in the studio and meeting with film creatives to possibly collaborate with in the future. We flew to New York this week to sign a deal with 7Days In Tokyo and we are all really looking forward to showing you some of Tokyo’s new material.

I first met Zarah earlier this year and after just one studio session together I knew instantly that Zarah is not only a tremendous singer, but she is also a hard working, dedicated songwriter. Her bubbly personality combined with her amazing voice and open minded approach to music, makes Zarah one of the most sort after singer/songwriters in Australia.
Marc first met Nick back in 2006 when he was scouting for new vocalists to work with. It wasn’t long before he realised that Nick was not your average performer. Not only is he a tremendously talented vocalist and lyricist, he is also an extremely talented actor and destined for a life in the spotlight. Nick’s innate talent to express himself has led them to create some fantastic music together and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Keep an eye out for ‘Unpredictable (The Robot Song) – Marc Ocean Feat. Nick Brown’ due to be on the airwaves and in the stores 3rd of October, 2013.

The following letter is an opportunity to let me try to explain briefly what Mocean Records is all about.
Let me start out by saying that I am tremendously excited to be a part of this new venture.
Over the past 15 years of working in the Australian music industry, I have formed strong relationships with other like minded aspiring individuals, trying to be the very best at what they do. You could almost say we were all trying to conquer the music industry. After a moment of reflection, I realised that all of my colleagues were all striving in the same direction, all with a common goal, all on parallel journey to myself.
It was at this point I decided to form Mocean Records.
Mocean Records is not like your average record label. If you contact us, you will not be treated like a stranger. You will not be shown the door. You will be greeted by one of our creative directors and you will given the opportunity to showcase your talents to us.
A company with its eye on the talent and not on its P&L statement is long overdue. I am not saying that we are not interested in the commercial aspects of music. To have a career in music means to make a living from music but what we do understand is that there is a fine balance between staying open minded to opportunities and making sound business decisions.
We understand that the future of the music industry is not in the hands of some ‘Greatest Hits’ record put together from a back catalogue that is way past is due date.
The future of the music industry is in discovering new talent and giving that talent an opportunity to showcase their given gift to the world.
This is one of the fundamental principles at Mocean Records.
We have already begun to partner Mocean Records with other leading songwriters and producers to form a team that has the ability to help put new talent on the map.
This is only the beginning of our new unified journey and I know that I speak for the entire team here at Mocean Records; when I say that we are all very excited to show you some of the music of the future.
